Volume 1: We will be starting Principle #2. It is really hard for me to know how much we will accomplish each day with the principles and learning exercises, so I am not going to break down what we will be doing each day. But we will do Principle 2 and start Principle 3 in November. Volume 2: We will still be working on Multiplication. There are a few students who are done with this. Those who are still learning their times tables will continue to work on those. For those who are done, I will have options for them to work on. I hope we can start Principle 10 in a week or two. I strongly suggest that the kids who have memorized their times tables continue to practice daily so they don’t forget them. They can use their flashcards that they created to help them.

Note To Parents: If you have been able to look in the Botany book, you can see that there are 10 chapters. We spend 2-3 weeks on each chapter. Starting in November, I will help your child with the vocabulary words for each chapter, and we will do 2-4 learning exercises as a class. Then, they will have the opportunity to choose 2-3 learning exercises to complete on their own during class. Please help your child choose the learning exercises they want to do, and provide the resources and supplies that they will need so they can complete them in class. I will not be helping them find these supplies and resources, though I will give them ideas. The goal is to teach them to find and research information on their own- to learn to self-govern. Your child may need help from you in completing their chosen learning exercises. These should be added to their Botany Binder. Please reach out to me if you have any questions about this change in Science.
