How it Works

Welcome to Glenn J Kimber Online Academy (GJKOA)!

We are pleased that you have interest in this great way to educate your family.

If you choose to apply and register, we will add your name to our private GJKOA Facebook page where you can get updates and share your learning experiences with other Online Academy Learning families.  You can also post photos and videos of your family, and your students can share the creative work they are doing throughout the school year.

For NEW GJKOA families, the application fee is $50 per family.  For returning families, there is no re-application fee.

Here is how the Glenn J Kimber Online Academy (GJKOA) works:

The system we use for the Kimber Online Academy classes is called zoom.us, and is interactive.   Students can talk directly to the instructor to ask questions or make comments just like any other classroom situation.  They will be tuning in with many other students across the country at the same time, and they will be able to see each other as they ask questions and participate.

• Classes are held 3 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, from September through May.

• Elective classes are normally held each Friday.

Where to Begin*

• STEP ONE:  Decide how you will be watching the classes.  You can use a computer, tablet, laptop, or cell phone.  Download the free zoom.us program onto the device(s) that you will be using.  For computers, register with zoom.us using an email address.  For a cell phone, register with zoom.us, using the cell phone number.

• STEP TWO:  Go to the Glenn J Kimber Online Academy website and create a personal account, if you do not already have one — kimberacademynational.com.

• STEP THREE:  Record your log-in information somewhere so you will remember how to log in each day (you can click the box “remember me” as well).  After logging in, go to the “Distance Learning” tab on the upper right-hand corner of the GJKOA home page and choose             “GET STARTED” from the drop-down menu.

• STEP FOUR:  On the product page, pay the Application Fee ($50 per NEW family) by clicking add to cart.  Our system uses STRIPE.  You will then receive an email of verification.

• STEP FIVE: At this point you will be contacted by a school administrator who will answer your questions and make sure you feel that GJKOA is a good “Fit” for your family. If that goes well, and we are sure it will, then…

• STEP  SIX:  You will meet with a dean who will assist you in placement testing, registration, curriculum, goal setting, and class sign-up.

• STEP SEVEN:  Sign up for classes, or watch pre-recorded classes. ALA CARTE $60 PER MONTH PER CLASS. BUNDLE ($345.00) x 9 months= $3105.00: Pay a bundled payment month for all household students, mom, dad, and grandparents including ALL Senior, Junior-B and Junior-A  core classes. (Students are  free to switch age-groups at any time, depending on preference.) There is a separate charge for electives, ($30.00 per class hour).  STRETCH TUITUION ($3105 stretched out into 12 monthly payments of $258.75 per month). YEARLY PRICE ($2760):  You are receiving one month free!

• STEP EIGHT:  Follow the directions for payment.  Options: (1)  automatic monthly payments, or  (2) Annual payment with 1 month free, and (3) add any chosen electives desired.

• THE KIMBER ACADEMY DRESS STANDARD:

IMPORTANT:  Inasmuch as students will be seen by others, they should always look and behave their best when they join class each day.  This program is set up just as if they were going to school each day.  GJKOA dress and behavior codes always apply.

Remember that you can discontinue Distance Learning at any time if for some reason it is not working for your family.  After you notify the Distance Learning personnel by emailing:  [email protected], your payments, account and access to the classes will be suspended the same day. You may also use the same email address for questions or comments about your Distance Learning experience.
