The Dean of Students is a position that is unique
to Kimber Academy. His/her responsibilities are:
Each teacher meets monthly with the Dean to go over the requests parents have made about their student’s classroom experience, specific needs and goals. This meeting helps ensure that Kimber Academy staff truly act as “employees” of the parents as they carry out the specific inspiration the parents receive regarding their children.
Although the majority of the Dean’s time will be spent in Dean’s meetings with parents, the Dean should be present in class as a “student” during Religious Studies time. A Dean may also attend class during other subjects, if time permits, and perform specific duties at the request of the teacher.
Dean’s meeting
The main task of the “Dean” is to help parents and students understand and appreciate these values while they are enrolled at the academy. The Dean meets with each family individually at the prior to beginning at the academy to get to know each family and their educational goals and needs. She will then meet personally each month with each student and their parents to ensure their academic goals are being met and the student is moving forward.
The Dean may also check in with students throughout the school day as parents so desire. This is something almost nonexistent in today’s modern education system.
Parents are responsible for scheduling their monthly Dean’s Meeting via the online calendar here. Please keep in mind that times fill up quickly.
"We’ve been blessed with the opportunity to stand for something — for liberty and freedom and fairness. And these are things worth fighting for, worth devoting our lives to. And we have good reason to be hopeful and optimistic. We’ve made much progress already. So, let us go forth with good cheer and stout hearts — happy warriors out to seize back a country and a world to freedom."
- Ronald Reagan, 1985
